Course Description
This course teaches in depth, hands on pre-trip procedures for tractor and trailers. This includes procedures for the front of the truck, engine compartment, in-cab, air brake test, back of tractor, fifth wheel setup and trailer. This course also covers coupling and uncoupling procedures. Students will learn basic diagnosis and preventative maintenance. Prerequisites: A clean/valid drivers license held for no less than one year. You are at least twenty-one (21) years of age if pursuing an interstate CDL, or at least eighteen (18) years of age if you are pursuing an intrastate CDL. You will comply with U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) regulations in parts 40, 382, 383, and 391 as well as State and/or local laws, related to controlled substances testing, age, medical certification, licensing, and driving record. Corequisites: CDL101, CDL103.
