Measurable Student Learning Outcomes

1. (Application Level) Demonstrate and discuss psychological aspects of cross-country competition including mental focus, imaging, team building, and team harmony. 2. (Comprehension Level) Discuss and complete tests of individual strengths and weaknesses. 3. (Application Level) Apply and discuss strategies of cross-country racing. 4. (Application Level) Demonstrate various aspects of conditioning such as: static and dynamic stretching, aerobic, and anaerobic exercise. 5. (Application Level) Demonstrate health and total body conditioning including weight training, plyometrics, and cross training. 6. (Synthesis Level) Analyze running technique, determine specific beneficial changes and expected results, and implement an improvement plan. 7. (Evaluation Level) Compare and contrast racing plans that are appropriate under different racing conditions and justify the decision. 8. (Evaluation Level) Compare and contrast various training and physiological principles involved in running.
