Measurable Student Learning Outcomes

1. (Comprehension Level) Identify various genres of literature, such as fiction, poetry, and drama. 2. (Analysis Level) Give detailed examples of elements (plot, character, theme, structure, etc.) that are unique to specific genres of literature. 3. (Analysis Level) Give detailed examples of elements (plot, character, theme, structure, etc.) that are common to specific genres of literature. 4. (Analysis Level) Indicate specific changes in cultural values that have influenced changes in the literary canon of any given time period. (CSLO 1 & 2) 5.
