Intro to Heavy Equip Operation

Measurable Student Learning Outcomes

1. (Comprehension Level) Describe various pieces of heavy equipment.
2. (Application Level) Demonstrate knowledge of all safety rules when operating, loading, moving, and working on all pieces of heavy equipment.
3. (Comprehension Level) Explain how to safely and accurately use each piece of heavy equipment following the manufacturer's operating manual standards for safe operation, including machinery operation safety, operator safety and proximity safety.
4. (Application Level) Explain and demonstrate understanding of workplace rules and ethics, including completing the job assigned in a safe and courteous manner, working as a team member, adhering to established work ethics, and demonstrating good time management skills and self-control.
5. (Evaluation Level) Assess the requirements of a specific job and job site then select the appropriate equipment, determine the preparation and sequence of equipment to be used, and demonstrate safe and accurate use of each piece of heavy equipment.
6. (Synthesis Level) In a safe and professional manner perform preventive maintenance of heavy construction equipment. (CSLO#2)
