Cultural geography and social institutions of contemporary Indian cultures of the American Southwest and their antecedents. Includes examining similarities and differences, gender roles, and the historic and contemporary relations of Southwestern Indian cultures and federal and state governments of Spain, Mexico, and the U.S. Field work activities may be required.
