Course Description
The first in a series of two courses designed to provide students with foundational knowledge and skills in abdominal ultrasound imaging. This course focuses on the principles and techniques of ultrasound as applied to the evaluation of the abdominal organs, including the liver, gallbladder, spleen, kidneys, pancreas, and aorta. Students will learn to perform and interpret abdominal ultrasound exams, emphasizing anatomy, common pathologies, and the clinical indications for imaging. The course incorporates theoretical instruction on image acquisition, equipment settings, patient positioning, and safety protocols essential for accurate and effective diagnostic imaging.
