Topics include the tools and tactics used in assessing the security posture of computer networks; the steps involved in a penetration testing methodology-network footprinting and discovery, service enumeration, attack vector evaluation, and vulnerability assessments; and the legal and ethical issues raised by penetration testing. Prerequisite: CIS130.
